When I plan travel for a client, I never want it to feel transactional. Yes, travel involves logistics—flights, transfers, hotels, dates etc. but those details are only the structure. The experience is the heart of it. And I know firsthand how much those experiences matter, because that’s exactly why people travel in the first place: to feel something, to discover something, to experience something they can’t get at home.
But there’s a challenge I run into often. Everyone is busy. Calls are short. Emails are quick. Most clients don’t have time for long conversations or “extra” questions. It would be so easy to collect the basics, book something that checks all the boxes, and move on.
Still, that’s not how I work, and it’s not how I want my clients to feel.
I plan every single trip with intention, including my own. When I travel, I’m not just thinking about where I’m staying or what time I’m landing. I’m thinking about how I want to feel. Whether it’s seeking calm, craving inspiration, or wanting to explore a place I’ve dreamed about for years, those emotional motivators shape everything. And I know my clients have their own unspoken motivators too, even when they don’t realize it right away.
That’s why, even when we only have five minutes, I try to ask thoughtful, intentional questions. Not to slow things down, but to uncover what truly matters:
What pace feels right for them.
Whether they want adventure or comfort.
What they want to remember most when they come home.
These small moments of connection elevate the entire process. I’ve had clients insist they’re “easy” and don’t need anything special, only to reveal, after one or two gentle questions, that what they actually need is the complete opposite of what they initially asked for. Once that truth comes out, everything shifts. Suddenly, I can build a trip that fits them, not just the logistics.
This is also why you won’t see me posting a new “deal of the day” every time you open your feed. The travel market is flooded with generic deals that look tempting but aren’t tailored to anyone. Deals aren’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is travel. The best trip for one person might not be the right trip for another, even if the price tag is appealing. My focus is on finding what genuinely serves your goals, your style, and your ideal experience.
Intentional travel planning isn’t about chitchat.
It’s about clarity.
It’s about understanding.
It’s about ensuring the experience matches the person.
In a world where everything moves fast, I want the planning process to feel grounded, thoughtful, and human. Because travel is one of the few things we invest in that becomes a lifelong memory, not just a line on a receipt.
So yes, we’re all busy. But even a moment of connection can transform a trip from “fine” to unforgettable. And that’s why I’ll always choose to plan with purpose. Every client. Every itinerary. Every time.
